St Anns Allotments Restoration Project 2008

Groundwork and Crestra Ltd. have asked us to pass on the following information

Construction programme
for the next three months

April
Works continue on plot 464 to create a temporary site compound for Crestra.
Clearance of plots 389 and 390 and the construction of a permanent parking area, that will be used by Crestra during the construction work programme and then handed back to the allotments after the works have completed
Clearance and stone up plot 62 which will serve as temporary storage for site works, and later be converted into a permanent parking facility

May
Work commences on the installation of the new water supply network, starting in the Stonepit Coppice area on 11th Avenue. Work then progresses to other paths and avenues in the area as shown on the programme. During this time there will be no restrictions for access to plots on foot, but there may be vehicular access restrictions. Work includes installation of new standpipes.
Installation of drainage and water supply, including new standpipes to 13th and 14th Avenue. There will be restrictions to vehicular access during this time on 13th Avenue.

June
Works continue as described in May.
Installation of drainage and water supply, including new standpipes to 1st Avenue. Also included here will be the construction of the retaining structure along part of 1st Avenue. There will be restrictions to vehicular access during this time on 1st Avenue.
Kerbs will be installed and macadam surfacing laid on 13th Avenue and part of 14th Avenue. There will be some vehicular access restrictions along parts of 13th Avenue for kerbing, and the whole of 13th Avenue and part of 14th Avenue near to the Chandos St gate will be closed for two days for macadam surfacing towards the end of June.
