Cider Var - Dabinett
UK variety.
Found probably early 1900s, in a hedge in Middle Lambrook, Somerset, by Mr William Dabinett and is believed to be a Chisel Jersey Seedling.
Grown in all cider countries and widely planted in intensive orchards.
Boldly striped, flushed in carmine; often very large. Early in season, cooks to puree, sweet, some acidity, not very juicy and recommended for 'Apple Charlotte'.
Pick early October, can be stored September, November-December.
