Open days 2017

We are holding a series of open days this year, in conjunction with the Community Orchard's activity days.

Our next open day is Apple Day on SUNDAY 15th October 11am - 4pm

St Anns Allotments has a rich history of fruit trees. We estimate there are 2,000 fruit trees in gardens around the site including 120 varieties of apple and 50 varieties of pear, with most thought to pre-date the Second World War and many much older still.
This open day we will have apple tasting, apple pressing and fresh juice, guided walks of the site, plus kids appley activities at the Community Orchard.
Refreshments such as hot soup and cakes plus teas and coffees will be available in the visitor centre

Come along , plennty to do and see!

FREE! All Welcome!

Some great comments from our previous open days:

"Excellent welcome! will come again, thanks."
"Thank you, that was lovely"
"First time visiting as it was an open day today. Absolutely loved viewing the plots and meeting helpful and interesting people."

"Lovely, a really good day"

And from one of our gardeners who opened their plot for the day -

"Sunday was fantastic loads of people turned up, a lot just stayed and stayed, had loads of comments like amazing, fantastic, best allotment we have seen. When you're there regular in the garden I suppose you don't see it how others do. But I loved people taking photos. It was all down to you and your team to organise these open days, well done."
